Day 13: 15th May 2023

Updated: Dec 23, 2024

Monday was a free day just to catch up with ourselves and relax.

The other half is into motorbikes, Indian motorbikes to be more precise. He owns an Indian Springfield, this is her in the picture below. She truly is a thing of beauty. If our lounge at home was big enough she would take centre stage. I consider her to be more ornament, than bike.

We were chatting that we hadn’t seen many bikes, we googled motorbikes in Australia and it turned out there was a shop selling Indian bikes and accessories in Cairns. The morning plan was set – we were going Indian shopping!

Thankfully, we didn’t buy a motorbike but one or two items of clothing may have fallen our way…

We wondered down the street and came across the Cairns Aquarium, inside we spent some time watching the fish. Weirdly, I get quite wobbly on my feet when I look through circular glass tanks to the fish captured within🤢. Its most odd, I need to lean against a wall or sit down, otherwise I stumble about and risk falling over.

Thankfully, there were plenty of benches and I could sit my way around the Aquarium 😣

We had a busy day planned for tomorrow (Tuesday), it was one we were both excited about, a day on the Great Barrier Reef. With that in mind, we decided a lazy afternoon at Trinity Bay was in order.

We read, watched the waves, snoozed in the shade, snored a little (or a lot) and read some more.

We packed a bag for the Reef and toddled off to bed
